KAIstack inside Arduino from ON Semiconductor

The global technology company ON Semiconductor promotes and implements energy-efficient innovations in various technology markets.

As a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions, ON offers a comprehensive portfolio of KNX interface solutions. To help engineers with KNX new developments, ON Semiconductor has equipped three KNX Arduino Shields with its own KNX interface chips. In cooperation with ON Semiconductor, TAPKO Technologies offers the KNX communication stack KAIstack, which is adapted to the needs of the KNX Arduino Shields and is freely available for evaluation purposes.

There are three Arduino Shields (NCN5130ASGEVB, NCN5121ASGEVB, NCN5110ASGEVB) which, in combination with an Open STM32 Nucleo-64 board and KAIstack from Tapko, can be used to easily start a KNX project. Fast prototyping with an STM32 Arm® Cortex®-M microcontroller is therefore no problem. All external components required to operate the transceivers are located on the shield.

In order to verify the functionality of the TAPKO KAIstack with that of the Arduino Shields, we provide free demo versions in our download center. These contain the complete TAPKO KNX stack for the device model 07B0 (system B) with the corresponding drivers for the different ST chips. Various standard applications are included as applications. We also provide the complete hardware documentation, so that KAIstack can be tested with the given EVAL boards as well as with your own hardware.
