High-class event - the KNX Secure Day 2022

An informative event with a lot of information on security for smart buildings took place under the leadership of Christian Stahn.

As co-sponsors, we would like to take this opportunity to expressly thank Mr Stahn for his sympathetic moderation. In discussion rounds with experts from all over the world, the topic of secure installation was examined from different angles. Interviews complemented the exchange of opinions.

In various presentations, new KNX SECURE products were introduced, especially by the sponsors of the event. TAPKO, represented by Sales Manager Peter Sperlich, also presented the currently available KNX SECURE devices. The special feature of course is that these can be configured at TAPKO as immediately available OEM products, i.e. with their own label, packaging, description of the ordering manufacturer.

Use TAPKO SECURE products to complement your portfolio and contribute to the protection of future installations. Inform your customers about KNX Secure with its double effect: KNX IP Secure extends the IP protocol (all transmitted telegrams and data are fully encrypted). KNX Data Secure protects user data (protection against unauthorised access through encryption and authentication).

Quick tips for KNX Secure

  • Especially installations in public areas should be securely installed or retrofitted to the SCEURE level.
  • In the case of installations that communicate wirelessly with each other, e.g. the exchange of information via routers for maintenance work, access from outside, there is an urgent need for action from an expert's point of view.
  • When using a KNX Secure Tunnel interface, it must be ensured that the strong passwords recommended by the ETS are used.
  • VLAN separation must be used for KNX IP backbone and other IP networks. The communication between the KNX IP network and other networks must be done via a firewall.
