Modular technique inspires
KNX RF Transceiver Module
Continuing the successful tradition of modular interfaces, Tapko is now providing the new OEM Multi-channel 868 MHz FSK transceiver module, developed by a key player on the KNX RF market, in conjunction with a highly refined KNX RF communication stack already in use in a huge number of applications.
This module, in combination with an external microcontroller running the application and the RF communication stack, enables every developer to create an easy-to-handle RF device without need for thorough experience in RF technology. The key benefits and characteristics of the transceiver module are: Multi-channel OEM transceiver module, ESTI pre-certified device, KNX ready, efficient stand-by mode, Ultra Low Power, rectangular 36x28x4 mm SMD module, RF calibration parameters embedded in on-board EEPROM. Typical applications for this combination, transceiver module and external microcontroller, are in building automation, home automation, metering.
The base board with the external microcontroller provides the supply for the RF board, reads the factory parameters from the RF board, and hosts the KNX RF stack. Via the half-duplex interface the factory parameters are obtained from the RF board, user parameters may be saved, radio parameters are written and read, the serial data are sent and received through RF. The small dimensions and compact design enable the use of this module by direct soldering to the target PCB like any other SMD component and thus ensure stability and reliability of the future RF product.
